Expert interiors advice: summer 2020 edition

At this time of the year, many of us would usually expect to be showing off our tans from, or about to jet off on, a summer holiday abroad. Instead, we’ve probably all spent a lot more time at home than we anticipated. While it would have been nice to have trekked through the rainforest, been inspired at a world-famous art gallery or soaked up the culture and colour of a tropical island, one benefit is that we’re all a lot more in tune with our homes and how we can change them for the better.

We decided to bring our ‘Holidaying from Home’ campaign, which encourages Londoners to look at their home with fresh eyes, to life by asking three London-based interiors experts for their tips on updating your home- Summer 2020 style.

Bring the rainforest to your working-from-home space

First up, we partnered with Topology Interiors, an award-winning interior design studio based in Peckham. Drawing from a range of interiors inspiration from Mid-Century to Scandi minimalism, the Topology look is all about clean, stylish spaces that are created with affordability in mind. We thought they’d be a perfect match for our Amazon Rainforest brand campaign, and they quickly got to work bringing greenery and natural materials together to create a work-from-home space sure to calm the busiest of minds.

Ok so we’ve been super excited to share these photos with you. We styled a little corner of our office to emulate the Amazon Rainforest! Why? Well @marshandparsons got in touch and asked us to be a part of their Holiday From Home Campaign (see our stories for the blogs). With so many of us stuck in the UK unable to jet off off on the usual summer break, they wanted to get us thinking about how we can bring a little excitement indoors. So what do you think?! It’s not quite the same as trekking through a rainforest but at least we can work immersed amongst nature! Comment below and let us know what holiday you wish you were taking! #AD #marshandparsons #indoorjungle #workfromhome #officedecor #plantaddict #plantlover #indoorgarden #workspacie #workstation #botanicaldecor #interior_and_living #topstylefiles

Get your culture fix at home with a gallery wall

Art displayed in the home

One of the best parts about going on holiday is undoubtedly exploring the art museums of Europe and beyond, and who knows this better than Wimbledon-based interiors and travel blogger Kelsey of @homewithkelsey. Kelsey’s boho-meets-Scandi home features plenty of gorgeous art, and as the (usually) frequent traveller has had to put a pause on her plans for now, we asked her to create her own gallery at home off the back of our Louvre brand campaign. Kelsey’s gallery wall features creative framing ideas, prints from local independent artists, and plenty of tips and tricks for homeowners and renters alike.

[AD] How to create the perfect gallery wall for your home! I was recently asked by @marshandparsons , the multi-award-winning London estate agency, to create a gallery wall as part of their ‘Holidaying from Home’ campaign. One of my favourite things about going on holiday is exploring art galleries. However with intentional travel off the table in 2020 and⁣ with all this extra time inside, now is the perfect time to create your own travel experience within your four walls. Sure, it’s no Louvre, though at least I’ll never have to queue or pay admission to view these masterpieces.⁣ ⁣ Head to the @marshandparsons blog to read about their top tips on how you can make the most of art in your home (link in my stories)⁣ ⁣ Hands up if you’ve got a gallery wall in your home? 🙋‍♀️⁣

Next up, our brand campaign brings us to the colourful streets of Havana. To create an equally vibrant home look, our minds immediately jumped to Geraldine Tan of the award-winning interiors blog Little Big Bell. Known for her joyful, colour-filled styling, Geraldine took direct inspiration from the eye-catching street style of Cuba’s capital to create a vivid style that combines pinks, yellows, blues, oranges and green. Find out how Geraldine created her Havana look here.

AD. Good morning. Many people may not be travelling this year, understandably, because of the Pandemic. However, it doesn't mean that we can't create our own holiday paradise at home right? I was super excited when estate agent @marshandparsons asked me to join their 'holidaying from home' campaign, to bring the street vibe of Havana into my home. So here it is, what do you think? I've incorporated the fun vibrant colours of the buildings and cars in Havana into my room, bringing the outdoors in with a plant and not forgetting the Mojito ( mine is a twist on the original recipe using Aperol instead). More about how to achieve this look and where to buy everything from is on the blog. Link in my insta stories too. Have a wonderful day x ( prints from @printclublondon , table from @nest_co_uk , vase from @blackbough , rainbow cushion @peachy_parrot, rug @pappelinaofficial )
