Whether it’s an accompaniment to a high-intensity fitness routine, a vehicle for meditation practice, or an antidote to eight hours sat at a desk, the variety of yoga classes in Fulham will leave you spoilt for choice.
We’ve structured our guide by area but if you’re new to yoga and aren’t sure what you’d like, we’d advise looking into all our recommended studios: we’ve made sure to include a real mix so all types of yogi are catered for.
If you like your yoga energetic and fiery, The Power Yoga Company in Parsons Green is for you. They offer power yoga classes in Fulham for beginners and intermediate levels in a studio heated to a comfortable 25C, as well as lessons for pre- and post- natal mothers, teenagers and children. More restorative types of yoga classes will add balance and bring you to a well-rounded practice.
The serene-feeling studio has changing rooms, fully-stocked showers and a boutique lounge area for you to relax in after class. Mats and equipment can be borrowed free of charge (not always the case in boutique yoga studios). There’s an excellent-value offer for new starters: four classes at any day or time for £20. This will also get you 20% off your next pass if you choose to continue practicing there. After that, you can pay for one-off classes, buy a class package or a monthly pass if you think you’ll be taking more than four classes a week.
The place to go for Bikram yoga classes in Fulham is The Hot Spot, down a little side street just off Parsons Green.
They offer roughly five classes throughout the day, and focus on the holistic health benefits of a regular Bikram yoga practice: as you move into each posture, they’ll explain exactly what the pose is doing to your body and why.
They also partner with Fulham Massage and Wellness to offer a discounted massage to their customers – a real treat for anyone who needs to deepen the mind-body connection in January. If you want to make it a full day of indulgence, treat yourself to a Fulham brunch.
Re:Centre’s yoga studio is truly stunning- a huge, bright space overlooking the river in West Fulham (also home to resident artists and a café serving seasonal vegetarian food – and if this is up your street, you might be interested in our list of vegan restaurants in Fulham). Their classes range from meditative Breathwork to Anti-Desk Yoga and relaxing candlelit evening classes. We love how there’s no WiFi and guests are asked not to use electronics – a perfect foundation for a grounding, blissful practice.
Re:Centre offers two weeks for £39 as an introductory offer. Afterwards, their drop-in classes are £15-£18 depending on the length of the class. You can also buy classes in packages of five, 10 or twenty, or unlimited monthly or yearly passes.
If you’re nervous about beginning, recovering from an injury or want to iron out any kinks in your personal practice, then private yoga classes with Christina B might be for you. She’s a certified yoga instructor with over 900 hours of training (mostly in India) under her belt and is interested in the spiritual side of yoga as much as the physical. Christina can create a bespoke program for you, depending on what you want to get out of the practice: a healthy body, a calm mind or improved mindfulness and meditative skills.
The yoga classes take place in Christina’s home yoga studio in Fulham, so there’s no need to worry about having enough space on your mat or being intimidated by experienced yogis doing handstands. Prices are tailored to your individual class needs.
Just a twenty minute walk up from Fulham Broadway, this branch of Triyoga has a spot on our list thanks to their seriously impressive variety of yoga styles, from Vinyasa and Dharma to Ashtanga and Kundalini. If you want to introduce other disciplines to your fitness routine, they also run Pilates classes- or take a look at our post on the best gyms in Fulham for a more comprehensive list of places to try.
The three studios themselves are high-ceilinged and light-filled, and are host to many different workshops throughout the year. As a new starter, 30 days of unlimited classes will set you back £59. After that, you can buy class packs (the most popular is 10 for £140) or an annual or monthly pass.
You might be more familiar with Neverland, or its winter alter-ego Winterland, as a Thameside bar complete with its own sandy beach, bar, games areas and DJ sets. When summer’s in full swing they offer Yoga on the Beach, a Saturday morning class that promises to work your body extra hard due to sand being an unstable surface. Tickets cost £16 plus booking fee- afterwards, you could make a day of it and stay at Neverland for food and drinks, or head on to one of our recommended bars in Fulham for a change of scene.
