The best brunch in Fulham: where to go

Where else but Fulham can you find out what ‘Stone Age’ bread is, enjoy bottomless brunch classics bloody Marys, go rogue with a cheese fondue or wagyu beef on toast, cater for the vegans in your group and bring your dog along to the party?

We’ve used avocado toast (what else would it be?) as a price comparison point for our brunch-loving friends out there. Here’s what brunch in Fulham has to offer.

For bottomless brunch…

Hally’s

This feels less like a bottomless brunch in Fulham and more like a bottomless brunch in California!

Hally’s setting is bright and breezy (think white, wood and pops of sunshine yellow) and the menu features LA-style goodness bowls, the ability to customise your brunch to your heart’s content, and an excellent cocktail list. The ‘Tipsy Lemonade’- chamomile-infused tequila, cocchi americano, triple sec, lemon and honey- is a must-try.

We’re particularly impressed with the bottomless brunch menu here as it covers all bases (a main, pudding, a hot drink and alcoholic drinks) without feeling excessive.

Cost: Avocado on toast with spicy tomato jam, feta, rocket, lemon and chilli is £8.50. For those a little hungrier, any dish with a coffee or tea, cookie or pastry, unlimited prosecco and mimosas will set you back £35.

Tip: It’s worth mentioning that Hally’s is just a five-minute walk from The Hot Spot, one of our recommended spots to practice Yoga in Fulham. We reckon that getting sweaty at one of their Bikram yoga classes before settling down to brunch here makes for a pretty perfect weekend morning.

Megan’s

Megan’s is right around the corner from Hally’s, making Parson’s Green one of the best places to find bottomless brunch in Fulham.

You’ll might be familiar with the Instagram-favourite chain already, but that doesn’t make it any less deserving of a place on our list: it’s got a wide-ranging yet consistently good brunch menu, guaranteed to satisfy brunch traditionalists (eggs benedict or overnight oats would be our pick) and brunch mavericks (fancy cheese fondue or lamb and sweet potato hash?) alike.

Cost: Avocado comes on 7-seeded organic sourdough toast, and is topped with omega seeds and chilli. It’ll set you back £7.50. For those wanting a boozy brunch, just add £19 per person onto your bill and enjoy unlimited Pimm’s, prosecco or ‘Bloody Megan’s’ throughout your meal.

For coffee lovers…

Chairs and Coffee

Chairs and Coffee is our top pick for brunch near Fulham Broadway. The décor, modern and quirky without being kitsch, together with the rotating menu of handpicked speciality coffees, is a combination guaranteed to start your day off the right way. And that’s without even mentioning the amazing latte art…

Foodwise, toast is order of the day here, made from either sourdough or gluten-free ‘Stone Age’ loaf. Both veggies and meat-eaters are well catered for; we’d recommend avocado with homemade dukkha mix for the former, and scrambled eggs with Parma ham and truffle olive oil for the latter. Canadian-style toasted banana bread with bacon, maple syrup, banana and Greek yoghurt will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Cost: An avocado toast with chilli, black sesame seeds and lime costs £5.30 – add on an extra £1 for the gluten-free option – pretty reasonable for a brunch spot in Fulham.

Tip: The café is fairly compact; it might not be the place to go if you’re with a large group.

For all the family…

Mil Kitchen

Mil Kitchen, located at the top of Munster Road, is the place for a family brunch trip. The café itself is spacious, with room for prams and larger parties, and they’re happy to host dogs as well.

They pride themselves on their well-sourced, farm-to-table menu: perfect if you’re trying to keep the kids (and yourself!) off junk or processed food. Child-friendly options include banana pancakes with berries and maple syrup, or apple cinnamon French toast with fruit and maple syrup.

Cost: Avocado on sourdough with hummus and cherry tomatoes costs £8: about average for the area, but more expensive compared to the rest of their menu. For just 40p more you could get the huevos rancheros: eggs, chorizo, baked beans, cheese, adobe sauce and tomato and avocado salsa on a tortilla.

Tip: If all-natural food floats your boat you’re in the right neighbourhood! There are plenty of amazing vegan restaurants in Fulham – we’d recommend taking a look at our list of local favourites.

For the gram…

Manuka Kitchen

Love Instagram? Into wellness? Manuka kitchen is the Fulham brunch for you.

We’ll start with the drinks: you can choose from a menu of ‘wellness drinks’ (rosemary and manuka honey, tonic and lime espresso), cold press juices, power roots lattes and detox shots, as well as the usual hot and boozy options.

For a truly unusual brunch option, there’s wagyu beef on toast with a poached egg, or go veggie with a kale salad. We love Manuka’s focus on seasonal food sourced from local suppliers – and it doesn’t hurt that all their dishes are presented to Instagrammable standards.

Cost: Our trusty favourite is ‘crushed’ avo on sourdough, topped with red quinoa, feta and mint. It costs £9 – the most expensive on our list, but definitely delicious.

For sweet lovers…

Bonbon

With a name like bonbon, it’s no wonder that those who like their brunches sweet are well-catered for. This café-delicatessen on Wandsworth Bridge Road offers a brilliant brunch and lunch menu alongside artisan and organic produce from mainland Europe and the UK.

Brunch is available all day – perfect if you want to fit it around a session at one of the gyms in Fulham. Our top pick is their banana bread sandwich with mascarpone, berries, honey and almonds, or fruit salad with coconut yoghurt if you’re after something lighter. They also have a selection of the most beautifully decorated cakes on the counter if you want to finish off with more sweet treats.

Bonbon also have a lovely selection of eggs and open sandwiches for any non-sweet-toothed companions.

Cost: A basic avocado and toast comes with organic seeds and lemon for £5 – though we’d be hard-pressed to resist adding cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil for another £1.

For savoury tastes…

The Hive Café

We’re back in Fulham’s Parsons Green for the final brunch on our list. The Hive Café has a local reputation for bringing out reliably good, laid-back breakfasts. Their spacious interiors make it a good choice for families with prams, and the long tables at the window are perfect if you need to bring your laptop and get a bit of work done post-brunch (or just want to people watch!).

They’ve got a substantial brunch menu with savoury options including breakfast burritos and a hefty full English, as well as fresh juices made to order and fresh, colourful salads.

Cost: Avocado on toast costs £7.95, with the option to add on a poached egg for £1 or bacon for £1.50. They stand out from the rest on our list by serving it – this time not on sourdough – but Rusticata bread instead.

So, where can you find the best brunch in Fulham? As you might expect, there’s no right answer, but the above list gives it a good go.
