On Battersea Rise, right on Clapham Common’s doorstep, is the first Breakfast Club to pop up south of the river. This kooky chain of American-style brunch and coffee diners provide a gorgeous way to spend the morning.
Vegan options here are decadent. We love the blueberry ‘Beauregarde’ pancakes (complete with Oatly cream and maple syrup!) or ‘The Full Vegan’ breakfast. You’ll have to get in early though, as breakfast is only served until 12pm and you can generally guarantee at least a short wait time at the weekends. Check out their menu here.
Between Clapham Common and Clapham high street, No.32 The Old Town is a lovely cosy bar with one of the best roof terraces in Clapham. Check out their special breakfast menu (served 9 – 11.30am in the week) or their brunch menu over the weekend (from 11.30 – 5pm).
Here you can opt for a wholesome bowl of porridge, or push the boat out for a Vegan House Breakfast of falafels, smashed avocado, slow roast tomatoes, field mushrooms, tahini and sourdough toast fresh from the brick oven. Start your day in Clapham here and spend the rest of your time wandering around Clapham Common, a beautiful green space with play parks and a historic bandstand. Simply fabulous.
Pipoca Vegan had to make it on to the list of Vegan must-tries. Even though it’s a twenty-minute stroll out of Clapham towards Brixton, we think it’s worth the walk! With a low waste shop next to the cafe, and a menu that boasts an array of delicious sweet or savoury vegan crepes, this place doesn’t cut corners when it comes to the ethos of a vegan diet. Breakfast here for a relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful menu of delicious and healthy vegan treats. Check out their Instagram for the gorgeous food coming out of this kitchen. Viva la revolution!

Been vegan for a while? Missing fast food? You are not alone. Head down to Clapham South for a fast-food style lunch in this neat little cafe.
Honest Burgers have got you covered for all your burger-and-fries themed dreams. We especially love the Bean-jamin Button, a black bean patty that comes with baba ganoush, greens, onions, gherkins and cashew nuts. With a peanut butter milkshake or a smoothie, depending on how healthy you’re feeling. Yum! Have a look at their menu here.
If you’re looking for a big lunch, look no further than Bababoom in Clapham Junction. This place is what happens when a marathon runner opens a kebab shop – it’s earthy, delicious, flavourful and absolutely packed with protein. Try their broad bean falafel wrapped in fresh hot chargrilled bread, covered in sweet potato hummus and harissa sauce. Also, on the first Sunday of every month, you can take part in the Kebab Run (from Islington to Battersea) if you love marathon running and kebabs as much as BabaBoom’s founder does. If it’s just lunch you’re after, take a look at their special vegan menu. BabaBoom also do a bottomless brunch ‘Power Hour’ option, one of our favourites in Clapham.
For ‘feel good’, fresh, homemade Chinese food with plenty of delicious vegan options, head to Mamalan, right on Clapham Common. This is a busy and popular little place, but the staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is casual yet lively. Open for lunch from 12pm till 3.30, we love the tofu and mushroom noodle soup, accompanied (of course) by a healthy portion of spring rolls. Have a look at the menu here.
