Best of 2018: Rentals

As part of our ‘Best of 2018’ series, we’re taking a look back at what our best rentals of the year were. Despite a reduced stock in the London rental marketplace, our 30 offices around London delivered exceptional results for their clients, as reflected in the 280 positive reviews we received from landlords and tenants last year.

Following are some of our favourite rental properties of 2018.

Wilmot Place, NW1 – £415 per week
Camden office

Once instructed on this stunning one-bedroom apartment we started viewings straight away. On the first day of marketing we conducted three viewings and achieved an asking price offer for an 18-month tenancy. The new tenant was relocating from Switzerland and moved in in less than a week, paying the first six months of rent in advance.

Highgate Edge, N2 – £450 per week
Tufnell Park office

After six unsuccessful months with several local agents, the landlord of this three-bedroom newly refurbished apartment instructed our Tufnell Park office to market the property. A negotiator in our Balham office ten miles away thought the property would be perfect for one of his applicants and travelled up the Northern line to view it with them. To the client’s delight, the tenants offered close to asking price and moved in the following week.

Mount Ararat Road, TW10 – £1,495 per week
Richmond office

After an unsuccessful marketing campaign with another agent, the landlord of this newly refurbished one-bedroom apartment instructed us to let his property. Within three days we secured an asking price offer for a three-year tenancy with a two-year break clause, much to the client’s delight!

Westbourne Street, W2 – £600 per week
Pimlico office

We were instructed on this beautiful two-bedroom apartment in December – a traditionally quieter time in the lettings market. After just over a week, we secured an offer £50 over asking price for a three-year tenancy with a 20-month break clause. The tenant enquired through our Corporate & Relocation Services department and was relocating from Barcelona. What a great way to end the year!

Melville Road, SW13 – £11,000 per week
Barnes office

The landlord instructed us to market this stunning, six-bedroom, semi-detached house and within a week we had secured an offer. Not quite what the landlord was hoping for, we negotiated with both parties and increased the offer by 20%. The landlord happily accepted, and we secured the tenancy for three years with no break clause.
