Community engagement is central to Marsh & Parsons’ ethos. We strongly believe in giving back to the local communities we live and work in, by supporting local initiatives and using our skills and resources to help promote the work of community organisations.
We work with over 30 schools, charities, music groups and local organisations around London, and attend around 50 events each year. Marsh & Parsons provide these partners with help ranging from financial donations to organisational assistance and hands-on support at events. Our in-house design team even create all promotional artwork for each event and we manage the print and production of all promotional advertising.
This summer we’ve been extremely busy, working on and attending 20 events across London – from school fairs in Tooting to Swim-a-thon’s in Shoreditch, and almost everything in between! Included in this were nine new and exciting partnerships, and we were thrilled to meet the new people involved in these organisations and at their events.
As our office network has expanded, so too have our community relations, and we were thrilled to support the St. Mary’s Primary School summer fair in Chiswick this June – our first event with our new Chiswick office. In fact, all our London areas are now covered by community partnerships, demonstrating our commitment to our local areas and the people living in them.
Over the course of the summer we designed and erected 450 sponsorship boards, which raised £6,750 for the local primary schools we work with – valuable funds that will allow them to develop new facilities for pupils, such as a creative arts and music room at The Good Shepherd Primary School in White City, and a new library at Telferscot Primary in Balham. Approximately 4,000 Marsh & Parsons (biodegradable) balloons were given out, and around 1,050 hungry Londoners received an ice cream from our M&P freezer bikes.
All of our teams love attending events and meeting the people who care about their communities as much as we do. Our dedicated community and events team were certainly kept busy this summer ensuring everything ran smoothly, but it was worth it in the end and our local links remain as strong as ever!
