Marsh & Parsons works with more than 30 different community organisations across London and for over ten years we have built strong relationships with many local schools, charities and organisations. In addition, our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy covers large-scale fundraising events for a variety of charities, as well as localised campaigns to provide focused support.
Our charity and community partnerships are about so much more than just giving money though; our dedicated community, sponsorships and events team arrange support in a variety of ways, from providing expertise with idea generation, planning and coordination to designing promotional artwork and printing, as well as helping out with advertising and event attendance. We’re partners from start to finish and are always there to provide hands-on support on the day. We love being part of our partners’ events and sharing in their successes each year.
This December we’ve been working harder than Santa’s elves, helping to organise and attend 18 events across London. We’ve given out over 1,000 cups of mulled wine and 1,500 mince pies to hungry Londoners at our Christmas events, as well as spreading some festive cheer with carol singing, face painting, games, goodies and over 5,000 balloons! We’ve helped with everything from school fairs to Christmas light switch-on’s, Christmas tree sales and even the odd Christmas party.
We’ve also enjoyed catching up with our community partners and seeing how our support has benefited them over the course of the year. In December we designed and erected 450 sponsorship boards for local schools, donating £6,750 in the process. This funding has helped pay for facilities and fund developments in all the schools we work with, and has gone towards new libraries, playgrounds and teaching equipment.
Our local teams love attending these events. We’re passionate about the areas we live and work in so it’s great to be able to meet people who share this passion and care about their communities as much as we do. Our community relations remain strong and we’re already looking forward to the next lot of events!
As a company we’ve also been busy raising money for a variety of good causes this Christmas. Across the business we’ve been collecting donations of clothing, food and toiletries for Crisis at Christmas, helping their efforts to end homelessness. We’ve also been fundraising for Crisis at our events, as well as Save the Children on Christmas Jumper Day to support their global appeals for children in need.
It’s certainly been a busy December, but we’re proud to be able to support so many good causes both in our local areas and across the UK.
