The Mapesbury Dell is small oasis of calm in Willesden Green that is teeming with wildlife and home to stunning flowerbeds. The Mapesbury Dell Trust transformed the, then named, Hoveden Road Play Area in 2000 after raising £150,000. 20 years, and lots of hard work, later the Dell is now a haven of activity. As well as the birds and pondlife that enjoy the Dell every day, parents bring their children to expend some energy on the play area and obstacle course. The maintenance of the park is largely down to volunteer gardeners and the Mapesbury Dell Trust raises money by holding events each year including the Midsummer Opera Evening, Wild Day and Christmas Carols.

Marsh & Parsons recently partnered with the Mapesbury Dell Trust when the office was opened in Willesden Green in 2019. We have been lucky enough to attend the Wild Day and the Christmas Carols to show our support and lend a hand. At the Wild Day, we handed out goodie bags and the children played games and competitions raising money for the Dell. The Dell received a visit from Wild Pete who brought introduced the children to all sorts of exotic animals including snakes, spiders and lizards.

The Christmas Carols were a more tranquil affair allowing us to appreciate the Dell in the evening. With bellies full of mince pies and mulled wine, we joined the local community to welcome the festivities and celebrate the beautiful surroundings.
