Living in Holland Park

Welcome to Holland Park

Leafy and luxurious, property in Holland Park naturally comes with easy access to the area’s green spaces, but it’s not the acreage alone that makes this one of London’s most sought-after areas. Diverse properties, from rare yet coveted studio flats to Victorian terraces and period homes attract buyers from across the world. World-class museums, eclectic events and operatic performances ensure no two weeks here ever feel the same.

Did you know?

Historic streets

Many of Holland Park’s desirable streets, including Abbotsbury Road, were once mini estates belonging to Holland House.

Fictional favourites

Absolutely Fabulous icon Edina Monsoon, played by Jennifer Saunders, famously lived in Holland Park.

Musical connections

Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Jimmy Page have all bought homes in Holland Park.

The best of Holland Park: things to do

As well as serving excellent food at sought-after tables, Holland Park’s neighbourhood restaurants provide discreet service for stars of stage and screen. Plenty of the city’s top local suppliers are celebrated and showcased in innovative, mouthwatering menus.

Flat Three

Flat Three draws inspiration from Korean and Japanese cuisine to bring heady aromatics and warming spices to their Skandi-style basement on Holland Park Avenue. Dishes are served with precision and flair from the open kitchen which, pleasingly, caters for a range of dietary needs too.

Six Portland Road

The ever-evolving menu at this small and relaxed restaurant on Portland Road keeps Holland Park residents booking up tables year-round. Ingredients are locally sourced where possible, from some of London’s notable artisan producers. A neighbourhood bistro that will likely be your go-to for mid-week meals and catch-ups with friends.

Julie’s

This Portland Road neighbourhood restaurant comes with a rather stellar list of past and present diners. Julie’s has been the dining scene of choice for Hollywood’s elite, British rock stars and Holland Park residents for over 50 years. A maze of quirkily-styled dining rooms with plush interiors and perfectly paired flavours make this a must-visit.

Holland Park residents may find themselves tempted to stay for more than just a drink in the area’s pubs. Plenty come with respectable menus that could compete with some of the most booked-up restaurants.

The Castle

This relaxed and welcoming pub on Holland Park Avenue wonderfully showcases some period features from the building’s heritage. The rare Victorian tiling on the exterior invites you to take a peek through the doors. Inside, modern gastropub surroundings are complemented by the choice of craft beers, artisan spirits and menu of no-nonsense, comforting classics.

Casa Cruz

Strictly speaking, Casa Cruz is a restaurant first and foremost, but its Clarendon Road roof terrace, cocktail menu and wine list are hard to resist on a summer’s evening. Drop in for drinks, but expect to be tempted by the menu infused with South American flavours.

The Mitre

Cask ales, leather sofas and a very moreish Sunday roast are always tempting at local favourite, The Mitre. Tucked away on Holland Park Avenue, this homely pub lends itself easily to post-work catch-ups, a casual business meeting or mid-week meal, where good quality food is the order of the day.

Holland Park’s event calendar is rarely empty. The exhibit halls of Olympia attract a myriad of shows, events and fairs to London. The summer opera festival is a must and the Museum of Brands is just the thing for a spot of rainy day nostalgia.

Opera Holland Park Theatre

The live opera performances given under Holland Park’s canopy are the highlight of the area’s summer calendar. The two month-long summer festival from Opera Holland Park pairs picnics with classic performances and future favourites - all set in the wonderful park’s surrounds.

Olympia

Over 200 shows and events a year grace Olympia’s exhibit halls. The eclectic calendar puts Holland Park residents within easy reach of some of the country’s biggest trade shows, charity events and festivals. A £1.3billion redevelopment plan for the site includes plans to add a 1,575 seat theatre.

Kyoto Garden

The spectacular Kyoto Garden brings tranquility and Japanese garden design to the heart of London. Vibrant leaves, hypnotising water features and magnificent peacocks make this garden a must-see, although you may find yourself back here for a regular lunchtime stroll.

Green spaces are naturally at the forefront of Holland Park’s attractions. The calm and leafy woodland, landscaped gardens and lawns are nicely balanced by eclectic and livelier parts of the neighbourhood, such as closeby Portobello Road.

Holland Park

54 acres of beautiful parkland provide residents with a place to walk, exercise and even spot wildlife around the Ecology Centre. The children’s play area, along with the wildlife club and holiday activities are a wonderful resource for families during weekends and school holidays. Parents can naturally take refuge at the park’s café, whilst the outdoor gym, exercise areas and sports courts have plenty for active residents.

Summerill & Bishop

Sitting on the corner of Portland Road for almost 30 years, Summerill & Bishop feels like sunshine in a shop. A beautifully curated selection of ever-changing homewares, gifts and table linens will tempt you in time after time.

Avondale Park

Often overlooked in favour of Holland Park, Avondale Park is a wonderful green space that’s pushing forward with its conservation efforts. A dedicated wildflower area, fruit trees and mix of woodland bulbs and flowers ensure a bee-friendly and biodiverse environment. Alongside the formal gardens, local teams make use of the multi-sports pitch, with regular netball, tennis and 5-a-side matches.
