Buyers Mean Business Over the Holiday Season
Mon 09 Nov 2015
In the world of property, the last two months of the year are usually an exciting time as buyers are increasingly running out of time to be in by Christmas. November is traditionally when astute buyers tend to start looking in order to beat the January rush and experience a good selection of properties for sale in relative calm. December is often one of the busiest months of the year with a perfect cut off point for all concerned parties to work towards exciting and often extremely stressful all at the same time! Some agents proclaim to have sealed the largest deals of their careers in December, yet often estate agents are reluctant to start advertising new properties in run up to Christmas. Why is this?
In short, its understandable that the thought of a pre-Christmas move can turn into an emotional roller-coaster among the build-up to the big day. However, we believe its a simple matter of planning. And even now, there's every opportunity to navigate through the buying process in plenty of time for Christmas (as long as you've got a great agent and solicitor on board!).
Also, importantly, if you're looking to buy, sell or move in time for Christmas, the chances are, you're really motivated to get the deal done. And despite the change of season with colder, darker evenings, those active in the market (the clever ones mentioned above), certainly mean business. So, that's why we're not one of those agents to start our Christmas holidays in mid-November! Clients hoping to sell their property, or find new tenants this side of the New Year, might have to prepare themselves for fewer viewings between now and Christmas, however what may be missing in quantity, is more than made up for by the quality of buyers and tenants at this time of year.
