Marsh & Parsons launch mobile website to help buyers on the move

Wed 09 Mar 2011

Marsh & Parsons is delighted to announce the launch of a new mobile phone-friendly version of their website, making house-hunting even easier for buyers on the move.

More than 50,000 users accessed Marsh & Parsons website from a smart phone in the last year and its a growing trend. There were three times the number of visits from smart phones in February 2011 compared to the same month a year ago. The new software, designed to make accessing the site simpler and quicker for mobile users, should boost the demand from the many buyers who house-hunt from their phones.

On GPS enabled smartphones, the new software detects where a user is accessing the website from, directing them to a simplified search page for the properties available to buy or rent in the area.

Peter Rollings, CEO of Marsh & Parsons comments: "The internet revolutionised the house-hunting process, with buyers able to research target properties and neighbourhoods before they hit the streets. Mobile phone technology has enhanced this, and growing numbers of buyers look up what properties are on the market in a neighbourhood while they are actually scoping out the area in person."

For iPhone users, the site also can be bookmarked on their homescreens, to be accessed as quickly and easily as an app.

However, the new version of the website is not just limited to iPhone and smartphone users. The intuitive software detects what type of phone is being used, automatically adapting to ensure it runs quickly and smoothly on each model.

Rollings continues: "We considered writing an app, but we felt that a mobile site covered all bases. The technology automatically knows what type of phone is accessing the site and presents the information accordinglyiPhone, Blackberry, Android, they are all catered for."

"The property market in central and west London is fiercely competitive at present, with over 14 buyers registering for every property placed on the market. This innovation will allow prospective buyers and renters to act quickly and on the move, to ensure they dont get beaten to the punch on a property by waiting to get home and use their PCs instead."

Marsh & Parsons has been embracing mobile technology since 2007 when they launched a text service, which allowed users to receive images and details of specific properties direct to their phone.
