Estate agents seek homes for new MPs

Estate agents are offering homeowners in Primrose Hill the chance to rent out their properties to a group of people who they suggest will make perfect tenants: Members of Parliament.
Ahead of next month's general election, Camden Town firm Marsh & Parsons has gone door to door with letters inviting people to let their accommodation to politicians elected to the House of Commons for the first time. It said: "With a 20 minute travel time to Westminster, many will be looking for rental accommodation in Camden and Regent's Park."
The letter does not say what mode of transport links Primrose Hill with Houses of Parliament within 20 minutes.
The company, which recently opened a new office in the former Tulepo Honey bistro in Parkway, has been selected by the Independent Parliamentary Selection Authority to help new faces at Westminster find somewhere to stay when they are away from their constituency homes.
Its letter is aimed at people who are mulling over the prospect of renting out, in and around the NW1 postcode. Those who go through with it will not have to worry about late rent payments, the property specialists say.
"They (the MPs) will be good quality, respectable tenants and importantly, guaranteed by the government," the invitation said. "In many cases they will be seeking very long-term tenancies."
