Press Release: The Special One's house on the transfer list
Fri 15 Oct 2010
The house Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea Football Club manager, rented in an exclusive gated development in the Chelsea Harbour has come onto the market with an asking price of 2,950,000 via Marsh & Parsons.
The soi-disant "Special One" came to live in the house in Admiral Square, Chelsea in 2007 following a little local difficulty with police who wanted to take the family Yorkshire terrier into quarantine.Jose was living in Belgravia with his children and wife Tami in the summer three years ago when police and a dog warden from Westminster City Council came calling. Jose refused to hand over the dog and it went mysteriously missing and was presumed to have been spirited out of the country back to his native Portugal. Jose was arrested and cautioned and the press enjoyed the brouhaha.
Seeking better security and privacy Jose moved with the family to the five bedroom house in an exclusive gated community close to Chelsea Harbour. The house has now been put on the market by ski and travel entrepreneur Rory Byrne founder of Powder Byrne.
Rory, 49, said: "Jose was actually very private when it came to his family and after the dog incident he wanted a secluded house which this one is. Its totally secure with no roads going through the development and is very quiet. Jose is very family orientated and he lived here undisturbed to the end of his contract with Chelsea."
William Hughes-Ward, of Marsh & Parsons Chelsea office said: "The house is immaculate, modern and built over five floors with off street parking and a garage. It is chain free and has been extensively renovated."
