Peter Rollings commenting following today's house price figures from Halifax
Thu 08 Apr 2010
"Nationally, house prices bounced back in March after Februarys decline, but in the central London property market prices have risen consistently since last spring, with no evidence of slowing down. However, there are now signs that more London homeowners are starting to put their properties on the market, taking advantage of prices which are close to a fifth higher than a year ago in some areas, which may temper house price growth in the next few months. We saw a 5% increase in the number of properties for sale in March over February. This improvement in supply will help satisfy the enormous demand from buyers and boost activity levels a healthy development for the London property market, which will see house prices in the capital rise at a more sustainable rate."
