Mortgage Introducer: State of the nation

And there it was. 2014 is a distant memory for most of us now but here we take a look back at what it meant for you and a look ahead to what 2015 will bring.
Name: Richard Campo
Company: Rose Capital Partners
Position: Managing Director
2014 got us off to a very good start. We only began operations in March, looking after Marsh & Parsons estate agents, who have been unbelievably supportive. This also coincided with the announement of the MMR. We knew this was coming and we were prepared for it, especially with the support of Pink network. So with everything in place from the onset, it only got better for us month after month.
We have seen an increase of first-time buyers in the market in the last few years and there was certainly an incremental rise in the numbers since 2013 because of the Help to Buy scheme. Last year we also developed a niche in development finance and that has been quite an interesting venture for us.
The biggest challenge for us in 2014 was of course the time it took for us to get things done with the lenders. But otherwise we never really had any major issues. We operate in a relatively high end market and the implications of the MMR never really had an effect on what we did.
Overall, I suspect that 2014 and 2015 will be a mirror image of each other. We should see a steady start this year and it should pick up post election.
