Jaw-dropping features? The Juliet balcony off the master bedroom gives the impression that you could quite literally walk into space... or at least into the gardens and the fabulous uninterrupted views beyond. Any juicy history? It was once owned by the late Michael Middleton MBE, former editor of House & Garden and Director of the Civic Trust. One of the current owners used to be the editor of Tatler . Room to swing a cat? 2,350 sq/ft - room to swing a lion in every room. What about in the garden? It's paved in Portland Haddonstone for low maintenance. The raised beds were designed by architects DOS, with the initial framework by Michael Middleton. The flowerbeds were designed by Chelsea award-winner David Lewis. There's a fireplace outside, too, a present from Julien Macdonald who was chucking it out. Sadly it didn't fit, so it became a garden feature. Couples or families? Either. Anyone who likes entertaining. That could be a three-year-old who likes playdates, or someone with a few more years on the clock that just likes having friends around for lunch. The owners have hosted 32 (seated) and, yes, they did resort to using the kick step with a cushion on top. What are the neighbours like? Cosmopolitan. Euro and UK bankers and partners. Dutch, American and a few English - mostly in finance or accounting. Schools? Norland Place Prep, St Clement and St James CofE primary school. The owner says... 'When we found the house it was an end of terrace cottage with a useful alleyway on its land. Now it's a stealth house. I like that you have to turn a corner from the hallway to get the full impact. The best thing's the peace and quiet.'Marsh and Parsons, 020 7605 6890.
