International Property Luxury Collection: AMI Consulting Interior Design

AMI Consulting is an Interior Design firm specialising in retail, office, residential and hospitality sectors, providing a range of services from its London and Chichester base.
Having designed Foxtons' initial flagship stores in 1999-2003 in her previous firm, Ann MacDonald was then commissioned by London estate agency Marsh & Parsons in 2005 to create a new interior and architectural branding for its stores, highlighting the company's 150-year history while promoting its contemporary image. The brief was elegant yet simple, friendly yet professional, and classic with a twist.
This was the 16th site completed by the consultancy. The designers worked to preserve and enhance the character of the building - formerly a restaurant - replacing the existing aluminium shop front with a hardwood timber frame, rendered pilasters and facia. An existing pilaster featuring period detail was restored.
Inside, two large structural walls were removed to open up the layout and were supported with a large ring beam. The reception area was centralised, creating a focal point for visitors, while the surroundings benefit from an uncluttered feel, thanks to the use of full-height glass display panels and room dividers. The large vintage clock withing a glass panel epitomises the company's historic rots and its contemporary ethos.
A powerful red colour is used down one side of the interior and is picked out in accents such as chairs and accessories. Fragranced candles on the reception desk - different in each branch - provide a unique olfactory memory of the site for visitors.
