The process of finding a short-term let through the Corporate & Relocation Services Team is the same as any normal let, except you'll be assigned a specialised Account Manager to guide you through the process. They will find out your exact requirements and provide you with detailed advice on budgets, areas and any other variables that will help you to make the best decision. What do you need to secure a short-term let?
The process of securing a short-let is slightly different to a normal longer term let. Please see an outline below of what is required:
- Rental for the full period in advance
- A deposit of 4 weeks rent
- An administration fee of £190+VAT
- Photo ID for the proposed occupant
- Cost of a check-in (including inventory) £99+VAT. The landlord pays for the check-out at the end of the tenancy
Why choose a short-let over a hotel?
There are some fantastic hotels in London offering an excellent service, but ultimately you are always under their rule. You are not free to cook your own meals, watch your own television or relax in your own garden. Hotels are invariably excellently located for convenience but this generally means you are going to be in a busy area. You may wish to stay slightly off the tourist trail, perhaps in a more suburban area, or possibly in a portered block overlooking the Thames. Most importantly however, short-lets are generally cheaper than the average London Hotel. This can lead to a significant saving, especially if the stay is relatively long, i.e. 2 months or more.
To summarise, short-lets give you the freedom and flexibility to live much more like a local and can also save you money!
