Here at Marsh & Parsons we are proud of our reputation...
As I have anticipated to you over the phone, it would appear that, unless something nasty pops up at the last minute, we have reached our objective.
We would have sincerely liked to conclude a purchase with you, as we have thoroughly enjoyed working together.
It is uncommon to meet high-standing professionals like you; we have particularly appreciated your drive and creativity to genuinely find the "right" solution for us and the personal touch that you have put on our case.
We will certainly pop in your office to say hello one of the next times we are in London.
Again, thank you very much for your help.
Dear Mr Rollings,
I would like to highly commend Alex Lyle and his team at Marsh and Parsons in Fulham who did a brilliant job selling my house on Britannia Road this summer.
I came to M&P after my disappointment dealing with some of Fuhams best-known estate agencies. Within a few weeks of taking my instruction they had had disappointing viewings and then suggested I slash the asking price which they had previously assured me would be easily achievable in the market. I despaired of selling at a fair price “ until I approached Marsh and Parsons.
Alex Lyle came to visit me in my house and returned with a valuation which delighted me. In explaining the firm's approach and his sales strategy, he reassured me greatly. He was intelligent, courteous, diplomatic and well-informed about market trends. In short, he inspired great confidence.
Over the following weeks his team organized dozens of viewings “ many more than the other estate agents had managed between them - and very soon the house was under offer at a price that more than matched my expectations.
It was a difficult sale because the buyers and their solicitor were cautious and suspicious. Alex dealt with them tactfully and professionally, always representing my interests, as his client. Both sides knew that he was fair. The trust that he built over the following “ often tense - weeks ensured that the negotiations ended in a sale which thrilled me, the vendor, and the purchasers.
In short, Alex made the process bearable and kept everything on track with a superbly steady hand and ever professional eye. All parties in the end were delighted with the result and I cannot recommend Alex and his team highly enough.
I'm very happy to write and thank your office for selling our flat here on the New Kings Road. We did have it on the market with one of your competitors for quite a chunk of last year, and it's safe to say they did a woeful job of selling it. It's safe to say we never thought we'd sell the place.
So, when we put it on with Marsh & Parsons, it was a great relief to see a team set about selling it with genuine enthusiasm. Everyone did a fine job, but we are especially pleased with Ben Gee. Not only did he bring the buyers in, he got them in at a really good price. And, more importantly, once the deal was struck he kept the buyers on track and the vendors sane. Not an easy task, I imagine.
So thank you once again, and I'll happily be recommending you to friends.
Dear Malcolm and Craig,
Many thanks for the hard work the team of Marsh and Parsons provided in finding the right buyer at the right price. We want to congratulate you and your colleagues for the superb execution of the transaction which went very smoothly.
We are sure that the new owners will enjoy the flat, where as a family we spent wonderful years and will keep lots of fond memories.
Tomorrow the movers are arriving in Montreux, and London seems so far away.
We wish you all the best in your future endeavours and reiterate our appreciation for a job well done.
Dear Mr Rollings,
I thought I would contact you following mine and my partners experience of being shown around a number of properties in the Notting Hill area by Petra Duffin of your Notting Hill office on Saturday 10 September.
Petra was extremely professional, courteous and friendly at all times, and clearly had expert knowledge of the properties and of the area. She listened to our requirements, and showed us properties that, whilst not 100% perfect (which was unlikely on our budget!) broadly suited our needs. Her wider advice on the area was also invaluable.
Petras manner, courtesy and organisation were in direct contrast to many of the other agents we met with over the course of the weekend “ she is a great asset to your business.
Dear Mr Rollings,
I am writing to thank Marsh and Parsons and, in particular, Jake Civardi and his team at your Pimlico office for the speedy stress-free sale they arranged for our flat at 36 Buckingham Gate at significantly over the asking price- which itself was more than we had expected!
The delay has been because we were also asked by our elderly widowed neighbour, to write to thank you for her sale which was only concluded last week-again at significantly over the asking price.
The two properties (although neighbouring) were very different in size and condition. We had lived there since the 1980s and the instinct was to place them with the long-established local agent who had bought and sold everything at 36BG since time immemorial “ despite the fact that we all complain about their high-handed attitude and a negotiating style which always seems to involve the seller dropping the price to meet the buyers expectation.
In our case, my husband saw three agents and was impressed by Jakes straightforward approach, market assessment and proposed sales strategy. I talked to him later and was equally struck by the manner in which he dealt with my request for a commission reduction to match the local agents proposal- he was polite, but convincing about why your product was worth the money because of your London wide reach. And so it proved; we had an offer of near the asking price within 72 hours with a sale agreed by sealed bids at significantly over the asking price a week later. Our buyer told us how helpful M&P had been to him and his family during the search which clearly also helped. As we drove off to Warwickshire, we mused how the sale of a property was supposed to be one of the most stressful things you can do. For us the only stressful issue has been how to spend the proceeds.
Our neighbour was in a very different situation. She had a bad experience the previous year with the local agent, who after many months had only arranged three viewings and who had told her that the property simply would not sell because of its condition. She was very mistrustful of most professionals but, because our experience demonstrated results, we felt comfortable recommending your company as very professional and trustworthy. Jake took time to listen to her requirements and to explain how the sale would be handled. I was impressed by the patient balance he struck between the professional and personal and between the positives and the problems. She was reassured that everything possible would be done to get an appropriate sale price and was informed and included at all stages. We will never know how much effort your team put in to allowing her to join her family in Sydney with significantly more funds than they could ever have expected.
Very many thanks from all of us.
Its not common for people to admit any affection for theirlocal estate agents, but we love Marsh and Parsons. In particular, we love the new branch of Marsh and Parsons that has opened in Little Venice. Why?Because, quite simply, theyve transformed our lives.
Six months ago, we decided to sell our flat. We asked three agents to come around and value. The ********* rep strutted around our flatlike a Jack the Lad, acting asdismissively as if he were kicking wheels on a used car; he eventually concluded that we should that we should expect no more than £435k, £440k at a push. ******* sent someone who had clearly had to rush from a cocktail reception or something: she looked pained to find herself on this side of the tracks, quickly made her excuses and left. Then Natasha Greenwood came from Marsh & Parsons.
Natasha was warm, chatty, full of energy and enthusiasm; said she loved the flat but resisted pressure to offer up a value there and then, saying shed appreciate a little moretime to research and consider more fully. Within 24 hours, she returned to me with a thoughtful and considered email, pointing out comparable sales in the area, outlining a sophisticated sales strategy (hook in interest with a low price, build up emotional attachment, generate a bidding war),and concluded that she expected the property to fetch between £475k and £485k. She was streets ahead of the competition. We signed the contract immediately. And we were not disappointed.
In the following month, M&P broughtaround fifty people through the doors. The whole team “ Dawn, Ben and Ian “ were a study in successful sales: sweeping around us non-intrusively (we both work from home), impressing us as they answered detailed questions about our flat and with the clever way that theyappealed to potential buyersimaginations by pointing out the flats potential. They obviously did a good job: the offers started flowing in.
It would have been easy for M&P to simply persuade us to accept the first offer “ I suspect this is what ******* would have done “ but they didnt. They said we should hold out for more, and kept advising us that, even as started getting perilously close to asking (£485k). In the end though, by following Natashas excellent advice, we generated precisely the scenario which she had predicted: a bidding war broke out and we watched in amazement as our fortunes started shooting up by about £5,000 a day.
We ended up accepting an offer of £480k. After fees etc, this leaves us around £60,000 better off than the best outcome we could possibly have expected had we gone through *********. So you see that is why we love Marsh and Parsons! And that is why it is no exaggeration to say you have transformed our lives! £60,000 could open so many doors for us. It could pay for my wife to have a couple more years off work after our next baby is born. It could go into a fund and pay for our kids to through university when theyre older. Alternatively, and this is my preferred option, it could pay for me to buy a second hand Ferrari. Fat chance of that one seeing the light of day though.
But seriously none of these things could have been possible without the amazing hard work of Marsh and Parsons in Little Venice. They are a great credit to you and your company. I really cant thank you enough for what youve done for my family and our future.
Wanted to drop you a note to say thanks for all your help in finding me a property “ Ian was great and without him being creative about the long completion date I think I would still be looking for somewhere now! I also think your welcome pack is SUCH a good idea! What a nice surprise to get that on moving in and the vouchers have been very useful!
Over the last four or five years, Ive sold nine different properties through several different branches of Marsh & Parsons and have always found them to be very efficient and proactive. Theyre easy to deal with as all their offices work together to find the best buyers. And its great they always recognise me when I go in! Ill definitely use Marsh & Parsons again.
I wish to thank Craig Tonkin for his professional advice and prompt response to my enquiry which speaks a great deal for the excellent service of your firm.
Also, he has put us in touch with Verity at the office, and she will be handling any letting we may undertake, and she too has been delightful.
Our sincere thanks, again, to David and Marsh and Parsons.
The involvement of the staff was helpful in every instance - I did not feel harassed or badgered and I felt that M&P were working for me rather than the purchaser (which is of course how it should be ... but sometimes isn't!)
From start to finish it took 3 months. We had a good buyer and we were kept informed throughout the process. Ben was a delight to deal with - very professional. His advice on how to price it was spot on.
There were plenty of viewings the service was top dollar and they got a good price they pushed it as far as it would go and I was very happy. I thought the level of service was excellent the fee was a bit higher than others but nobody minds paying for what they bought and I bought a promise of a higher level of service and I got it.
To All at M&P,
Thanks so much for all your extraordinarily hard work on our behalf. You have transformed our lives and been delightful in the process!
Dear Ms Kelly
I write to you to commend to you the quality of your staff.
My husband and I have recently spent a great deal of time trying to buy a flat in London for our daughter to live in. Of all the agents we came into contact with during this process, by far the nicest, most efficient and personable were yours. Whilst we didnt in the end purchase our flat through you, I felt I simply had to let you know how highly we thought of your service.
We dealt with the Holland Park, Notting Hill, Pimlico and Kensington Church Street branches all of whom were most helpful. I particularly highlight Malcolm Hall and Toby Downes. Toby was one of the first agents we met when we started this process last October. He understood our needs well, was highly professional, refreshingly straightforward and kept us posted of new properties that might have met our needs.
I would be grateful if you could pass on our thanks and regrets that on this occasion we have not been able to purchase through you, however much we should have liked to have done so. I hope we shall do business again in the future.
Dear Natasha and Iain
We wanted to thank you both (and the rest of the team) for all your advice, hard work and support over the last two months.
We have been very impressed with the level of service Marsh and Parsons has provided. You have always been available to give us good advice, liaise with the buyer or solicitor on the other side, and been very honest and full of energy throughout the sale process. We had a few tricky situations when we were selling our flat and your approach ensured the process remained smooth and worked out well. We're very happy that we came to you when we decided to sell our property and are still astounded at just how many viewings we had!
Once again, many thanks for all the efforts you put in to selling our flat. We would not hesitate to recommend you to others.
We were impressed with the service Marsh and Parsons provided us. You made light work of selling our flat for us. You got a huge number of people through the door and despite the high volume of applicants, the viewings were always held at times convenient to us “ important with two babies.
It really felt like you were all on our side “ trying to get the best price for us, which was, ultimately, our asking price, and it all happened so fast!
Many thanks for all of your help.
