I recently sold my London apartment through the Marsh & Parsons' South kensington office. I was recommended William Hughes-Ward to deal with. Being a absentee vendor (I Live in Australia) I was worried that it would be a hard programme. In March I visited London and had three agencies around to appriase. William was the most comforting in regards to doing this from afar. Within two days I had multiple offers and had achieved my asking price. William and the Marsh & Parsons' network of offices in the area did a great job to assure me I was getting the best price. When it came to settlement, William went above and beyond to help the process, including organising and paying for the removal of the furniture that had been left there.
I can not say enough about how good William and the team were. We had sold about three properties through other large network london agencies and can't fault Marsh & Parsons and William. I would be very happy to recommend either again.
I came to Marsh & Parsons and Ian Barrett from a rather disappointing experience with another local estate agent and so my hopes were not high. But as the office is almost next door to the property I was wanting to sell it seemed daft not to give Marsh & Parsons a try. From the very beginning I warmed to Ian who was straightforward and non proscriptive and made clear that he was taking instruction from me and not the other way around. I understood quite quickly that he is an intelligent and subtle operator and of course he was in charge and I was glad to have him so.
Within the shortest possible time they were showing the flat to people already on the books who were looking for a property of this type and moments later we had several offers at the asking price. Ian was in his element. I was rather astonished. He asked them all for their better offers and they came in very close to the price he had first suggested we put on the flat. I had opted for a lower asking price and am glad to admit I was wrong and he was right.
The actual process had its share of bumpy moments, but I was shielded from the worst of it by Ian and by Gillian Shubotham, who was also a delight to do business with.
If I have any regrets about the experience it would only be that I didn't go to Marsh & Parsons when I first decided to put the property on the market - not least because it coincided with their opening in the Old Brompton Road and they were offering 0% commission. But in the event I was happy to pay up - Gillian and Ian earned every penny and more of theirs.
As I have already said to you, you put all other agents to shame, perhaps my original 'James" is the only one who comes close to your professional standard - you really do blow apart the common stero-type of an estate agent (I'm allowed to say this as I am indeed an adman aka "madman"!). I don't even think about whether we got absolutely the best price or not - you just made me feel confident all the way through the process. On my part we have some difficult personal issues happening and thanks to your approach I have been able to focus on these and leave much of the issues on the sale with you. For this I thank you so very much.
Specifically - I much appreciated that when the seller came back with such a low second evaluation that you had already challenged it, put forward a way of them addressing it ,and had a clear and well supported proposal for me. It was professional and well delivered. I never once doubted your integrity or capability.
Overall I think what you do so well is to cover off the whole process, prompting solicitors and orchestrating everyone on whatever role they play.
We just wanted to say a big 'thank you' for all your work on getting Cavendish Road sold.
Your efficiency, persistence, calmness, patience and never-ending good cheer not only made the whole process happen but also made it bearable at some of the rather more ‘difficult’ times.

We sold our home in London in December 2012 because of an upcoming move to the US. We were not sure exactly when we were moving and needed to have an agent who could work with us and our moving deadlines. We selected Marsh & Parsons as, after talking with several agents, they showed the greatest care and understanding in devising a marketing plan.
Once we agreed a marketing approach, the viewing process went smoothly and the clients they brought were intelligently vetted. The agents were courteous and respectful of our needs.
We received several bids and accepted a bid which went through in the required timeline. I had not realized what the closing process entailed and Marsh & Parsons (Ian Barrett in particular making himself constantly available) proved extremely helpful in making the process go smoothly. In my opinion, the broker’s involvement in the closing process is almost more important than during the actual showing of the flat; M&P were excellent.

We were more than impressed by the initial professional approach that you, together with your sales representatives Heidi and Richard, conveyed to us on our first visit to your Pimlico offices and, having experienced at length what was the alternative from other Estate Agents in the vicinity, we quickly agreed to your appointment as sole agent.
We were particularly impressed by the atmosphere in your Pimlico premises and the ambience and harmony that pervades the office. There is definitely a feeling of well being when entering and the fact that you, as Manager, are immersed with your staff rather than aloof is definitely a plus factor. The fact that you actually later conducted a few viewings of our property, yourself, reinforced our feeling that we had made the right decision.
As you may remember, we were mainly in residence and available during most viewings and we confirm that the performance of Heidi and Richard during viewings was excellent; they both conveyed the salient points of the property and its benefits to the viewers and afforded us an opportunity to engage with the potential buyers, as appropriate.They also respected our privacy and always gave advanced notice of any potential viewing.

Just a quick email which is very belated to say thank you so much for all you did to ensure the speedy and smooth sale of 4 Rosedale Terrace.
As you know we’d had our property on the market with another agent from May 2012 until August 2012 and although we’d agreed an asking price offer quickly the sale did not proceed smoothly due to numerous questions from the buyer and the other agent did not keep the process going. On many occasions we asked if there were other buyers out there and we were told the market was quiet as it was the summer. Within a few days of putting it on the market with you in late August we had an offer which exceeded the previous asking price by nearly 5% and the sale was completed within 6 weeks with minimal fuss.
What we were so impressed with was that whenever we rang you or your rang us you always had an update of the progress of the buyer and the solicitor. We really felt you were acting for us rather than the buyer. Before instructing our first agent we had contacted you but had been put off by your higher fees. When we came to pay the bill for the fees we really felt you’d earned every penny of it and as you’d always said you would get a higher purchase price which would more than cover the increased fees. We have been recommending you to all our West London friends who are thinking of selling.
We have settled in well in Winchester – we are in a rented property and our new build house is going to be ready on 28th February - hopefully!

Today I completed the purchase of a garden flat on Stephendale Road and would like to thank you, and all in Marsh & Parsons, for the exceptional service I received.
For several months, finding the right flat proved to be impossible and it is not until I spoke to Ben Gee that I could make any progress with the purchase. Ben was spot on with understanding my requirement and he could match it exactly with a flat on Stephendale Road. I cannot praise him enough for the exceptional skills and professionalism he has demonstrated throughout this transaction, and I have never known a smoother property purchase in the twenty eight years I have lived in England! Since then you have not only succeeded in selling our house, you have also assisted us in finding a replacement London abode. When we first met, you suggested a price which was slightly above our expectations.
